DC to DC Converter Kit

Good soldering techniques for medium dense boards.

Generates regulated +12V and -12V voltages from a 9V source such as a 9V battery. This kit is designed to teach the basics of switchmode circuits. You wind your own toroidal transformer. Test points are provided to view switching waveshapes on an oscilloscope. An on-board 1 Ohm resistor in series with ground allows measurement of current drawn from 9V supply. Calculate efficiencies at various loads. Outputs can have an isolated ground or a common ground with input via jumper.
